There are also the buck species such as impala.red hartebeest.springbok,nyala plus giraffe and zebra plus many more. The Baroness is a lodge with lots of old charm and has good, strong bones.It is a stone building that has big bedrooms and a charming old fashioned feeling. The rooms are each different and have no tv so one can hear nature and get back to reading and talking.

Our Story

The Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve is 12.5 kms off N2, in Plettenberg Bay along the Garden Route in the Western Cape of South Africa. The game reserve caters for day visitors and also has accommodation in their colonial safari “Baroness” lodge offering a full service Bed & Breakfast, Half-boarding option (dinner, bed & breakfast) and self catering for both small and larger families. The main lodge has old-world charm, an old stone building with large bedrooms, big verandas and a country-casual vibe.

The game drives are 2 hours long and one can also do a horse back safari if you are interested in a more close to nature experience (you must be 13 years of age or older). The game drives are experienced in a land rover with an experienced guide. The game viewing is excellent and the chances of seeing lion, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, wild dog, hippo and elephant are excellent. There are also the buck species such as impala, red hartebeest. springbok, Nyala, giraffe, zebra and much more.
