Die Suidkus speel gasheer vir een van die wêreld se skouspelagtigste natuurverskynsels ter wêreld – die jaarlikse "Sardine Run".

Elke jaar, in die wintermaande tussen Mei en Julie, trek miljarde sardientjies, Noordwaarts langs die kuslyn op pad na Mosambiek.

Die sardientjies, wat naby die oewer swem, lok hengelaars en selfs inwoners wat graag 'n paar van hierdie visse wil vang.

Ons is bekend vir “splash rock” waar walvisse paer meter van jou af te sien word.

Sardientjies lok ook ander natuurlike roofdiere in die vorm van dolfyne, walvisse, haaie en seevoëls oor die hoof.
