Summary of the speech made by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday 12 July 2020 (Keep sharing)
* The country will NOT move back to a lower level of lockdown - SA will remain at level 3.
- ALCOHOL BANNED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT
- Alcohol - sale, distribution and transport, banned with immediate effect!!!
- CURFEW REINSTATED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT: 9PM TO 4AM
- National State of Disaster will continue to 15 Aug 2020
- Auction all open and allowed
- Family visit and other social activities are completed illegal
- cloth masks mandatory - expect new gazette with rules regarding it.
- all businesses must have a designated official for COVID-19
- taxis on a long trip must only have a 70% occupancy, but taxi's on a short trip are allowed a 100% occupancy.
* We have a serious shortfall of about 12 000 Healthcare workers - and health facilities in several provinces are already under tremendous strain.
* SA now had 37 000 beds available in quarantine facilities in public & private facilities
* Everyone must wear a cloth masks when leaving your home, wash hands, sanitize workplaces regularly & keep safe distance from other people.
* Ramaphosa chastises people who attend large gatherings, funerals and parties - in some cases up to 1000 people.
* Surge in Covid-19 infections were expected, but it's spiraling out of control.
* Recovery is more than 48%
* 3 x Premiers are now positive - Western Cape, Gauteng & North-West - wishing them a speedy recovery
* 4079 people have now passed away from COVID-19 - a quarter of these people have passed away in the past week - but the percentage is still extremely low in comparison to statistics from other parts of the world.
* Expecting between 40 000 & 50 000 deaths before the end of 2020.
* SA records more than 12 000 new case a day
* We now have 276 242 Covid-19 cases in SA
