Durban, 2 April 2025 – The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) has announced temporary lane closures on the N2 national route between Joyner Road and Moss Kolnik Drive for essential bridge jacking work. This work is part of the emergency repairs to the Mbokodweni River Bridge.

SANRAL hosted a stakeholder engagement session in Lepelle - Nkumpi Local Municipality - Lebowakgomo Civic Centre under the banner “Taking SANRAL to the People” to introduce upcoming construction projects on the R518, R579, and R37 national roads. These developments aim to improve road infrastructure, enhance safety, and create economic opportunities for local communities.

The R579 upgrade, which includes expanding the road from a single carriageway to a dual carriageway, is set to begin mid-2026. SANRAL Limpopo Province Head, Mr Madoda Mthembu also announced the road agency’s plan to establish a provincial office to be based in Polokwane to strengthen engagement with municipalities, government departments and stakeholders in Limpopo.

SANRAL Hosts Taking SANRAL to the People Engagement Session in City of Ekurhuleni

Pretoria, 28 March 2025 – The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL), in partnership with the City of Ekurhuleni, will host an information sharing session with small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) to introduce its upcoming projects on the N3, N12, N17 and R21 national roads. Aptly titled Taking SANRAL to the People, the session will also provide an opportunity for SANRAL to unpack its sub-contracting and job opportunities, as well as share updates on its routine road maintenance (RRM) projects in the city.
