The Eastern Cape is not called a 'construction site' for nothing. When travelling on the N2 between Makhanda and Nqushwa, be on the look out for this project.
It entails upgrading the existing single carriageway to new geometric standards at the various intersections, constructing and extending underpass to accommodate the new alignment on the road.

While driving on the R24, be extra mindful of trucks as they drive between Gauteng and the North West.
Maintain a safe driving distance. Provide enough room for trucks to make wide turns. Stay patient and adjust your speed.

The Huguenot Tunnel in the Western Cape is set for a major upgrade. The tunnel’s North Bore is due for an upgrade that, once complete, will be operational alongside the South Bore, and cater to two lanes of traffic in each direction.

During this project, we removed approximately seven camel thorn trees that were growing in the road reserve. As these are protected trees, we needed a permit to do so.

The R335 Motherwell to Addo project includes an improvement of the road. The R335 crosses two rivers, the Sundays and Coega rivers.
The upgrading works will include stormwater drainage upgrades, widenings/replacements of bridges and culverts and all associated road furniture. The approximate duration is 43 months. The contract for construction was awarded to Down Touch Investments in August 2023.
