Thank you to our hunters and friends for one of the best hunts this season. It was not all smooth sailing. We had to work hard. In the end, we got what we were looking for great trophies and memories to last us a live time .

Winner Announcement: PHASA Paul Ferreira Bow Hunting Trophy of the Year Award

The Professional Hunters’ Association of South Africa (PHASA) is delighted to announce that Dawie Kemp of Dawie Kemp Safaris has been awarded the prestigious Paul Ferreira Bow Hunting Trophy of the Year Award.

This esteemed accolade honors the most exceptional trophy animal taken with a bow or crossbow by a paying client during a fair-chase hunt in South Africa. Dawie's impressive submission featured two prize-winning entries, with one hunt in particular capturing the spotlight.

The standout entry was an extraordinary 50½" Sable, hunted in the Waterberg region. This achievement was the result of meticulous planning and ex*****on. The client, equipped with a Hoyt compound bow, delivered a flawless shot from a makeshift blind strategically placed at a popular waterhole. The arrow struck perfectly at 25 yards, and the animal expired within 80 yards, showcasing both the client's skill and the expert guidance provided by Dawie Kemp.

This entry embodies the spirit of the award, celebrating the authenticity of the hunt, the hunter's skill, and the dedication of the professional involved.
