International Museum Day (IMD) is observed annually on 18 May, and the theme for is 'Museums for Education and Research'. As such, UP Museums have partnered with Javett-UP, House Education, Creative Education South Africa, and UP Campus Tours (UPCT), to promote university museums to a wider community and join hands with the global community to commemorate this important initiative.

The next woman we want to acknowledge for Women's month is Sumarie Greybe. Greybe is the co-founder of Naked Insurance and a UP Alumni. The Naked Insurance aim is to support women in their work/life balance. Greybe also believes in helping women stay in the workforce by ensuring that they have the support needed to rise through the ranks. She states: "We need to make sure every girl is built up with the confidence and education to succeed". Greybe graduated with BCom (Hons) in Actuarial Science in 1994 and in 2018 she launched Naked Insurance with fellow UP Alumni Ernest North.

Happy Women's Month🎉😎
For this year's women's month we will be acknowledging phenomenal women who crossed paths with the University of Pretoria.
For our first women's month post we would like to acknowledge Anne Rasa, a remarkable woman who established the Meerkat Sanctuary near Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Rasa also owned the Nature Reserve Kalahari Trails which offered accommodation and guided walks to any and everyone who had an interest in the fauna and flora of the Kalahari.
Anne Rasa was a professor at the University of Pretoria from 1986 where she started her studies on "Yellow Mongoose".

Friday we visited Future Africa for some training and sightseeing with Richard Hay from Plant Sciences🌍
What a wonderful experience it was! We can’t wait to take you on tours there.

The evening was eventful; filled with fun and delicious braai food!
We got a chance to play the award-winning UPCT board game 🏆
