Kerala monsoon comes to end !!
Dear Mr. Vinodh Maharaj
As I'm sure you've heard in the past few days, the state of Kerala in southwest India experienced the heaviest monsoon rains in nearly a century. We face many challenges in India and this is certainly one of the most extreme in recent times, but by God's grace all our staff, drivers and clients are safe and people are moving in and to other parts of Kerala and across South India.
We've been receiving messages of support and concern from our clients around the world, and we thank you for these.
Finally, nature has calmed down in Kerala and it is not raining since yesterday which is indeed a good sign and the bright sun has brought in a ray of hope to Kerala people. Without rain, the state can concentrate better in relief and recovery measures. Right now the roads to Cochin from Calicut, Munnar & Coimbatore is open and small vehicles are being allowed to ply on these roads. Our whole team, headed by our Cochin office family, are involved in rescue operations, supporting the flood victims in all possible ways. We shall continue to monitor the situation and stay informed as things develop over the coming days and weeks.
India is renowned for its resilience in the face of adversity, and while the scale of this event shouldn't be understated, it's reasonable to say that as soon as the flood waters recede, people from Kerala, and beyond, will begin the task of cleaning up and restoring the state to full functionality as quickly as possible.
Likewise, in Karnataka, Coorg remains affected in the heavy monsoon rain. However, the place will resume normalcy soon, say in a week or in 10 days' time.
Having said that, in Tamil Nadu, farmers are rejoicing as surplus water from the dams of Karnataka are being released to Tamil Nadu and so people residing near the Cauvery delta areas feel fortunate as it helps them a lot in rice cultivation.
We shall surely keep you updated about the recovery process in Kerala and the condition at Karnataka. In the meanwhile, if you already have a Kerala / Karnataka tour planned for this coming winter season, please feel free to contact your tour planner- we will continue to provide as much relevant and accurate information as we can.
Again, thank you for your messages and support during this difficult time,
