Dear Bundu NetworX Subscriber, (please read to the end 🙏)
As our business grows, it becomes more complex.
In the last two weeks, as you may be aware (some of our clients have been affected more so than others) we have had an out of the ordinary amount of downtime and service failures. Previously, as you know, we have had issues with weather and wildlife damaging our masts and our infrastructure. This time, regrettably, it has been malicious network sabotage. This affected only the network backbone and none of the end-user equipment, accounts or WiFi installations. We have responded by significantly improving our security in those areas where we were vulnerable. We have reported these incidents to the SAPS and as a result a criminal case has been opened. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and will keep you updated on progress regarding improved security 🔎
On the positive side we have, as always, been working on network upgrades!
✅ Our Nottingham Road fibre point has been upgraded to 2Gbps.
✅ The Amanzimtoti fibre point has also been upgraded to 2Gbps.
✅ Additional transit services have been purchased in our Durban data centre, now being able to handle 6Gbps of traffic between our Midlands and South Coast networks.
✅ A new tower was erected in August in the Nottingham Road area to alleviate the traffic coming in from the Western side of the Midlands network where we have seen major growth in the last few months.
✅ In the last two months we have also commissioned two new towers in the greater Durban area expanding our network to Queensburgh and Prospecton.
We would like to thank our loyal supporters for sticking with us through the good times and the rough times.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the above information, please feel free to call us on 087 222 9500.
Your Sincerely,
Jackie Momberg
Managing Director
