Our stay at the Palm River Hotel in Victoria Falls was incredible. We spent our days relaxing by the pool, soaking in the breathtaking views of the Zambezi River, and enjoying the serene atmosphere of this beautiful retreat.

The combination of luxury, nature, and warm hospitality made it the perfect place to unwind after exploring Victoria Falls. Waking up with the view over the river and ending the day with a sunset drink on the terrace was pure magic.

From the moment we arrived at the Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria, we were greeted with warmth and elegance. The beautifully restored station, with its vintage charm and timeless atmosphere, set the perfect tone for our upcoming journey. To make this experience even more special, we had the incredible honor of meeting Rohan Vos, the visionary founder of Rovos Rail.

Rohan’s passion for luxury rail travel began in the late 1980s when he set out to restore classic train carriages and create a world-class experience on the rails. What started as a dream has now become one of the most renowned luxury train journeys in the world, combining old-world glamour with modern comfort.
This was the perfect start to an unforgettable adventure through Africa!

🇩🇪 Schon bei unserer Ankunft am Rovos Rail Bahnhof in Pretoria wurden wir mit herzlicher Gastfreundschaft empfangen. Die wunderschön restaurierte Station, mit ihrem nostalgischen Charme und ihrer zeitlosen Eleganz, schuf die perfekte Atmosphäre für unsere bevorstehende Reise. Our journey with Rovos Rail from Pretoria to Victoria Falls felt like stepping back in time to the golden age of travel. From the moment we boarded the elegant vintage train, we were immersed in pure luxury, breathtaking landscapes, and the rhythm of the rails.

Inside, the train was a world of its own – a blend of classic elegance and timeless comfort. Our beautifull suite offered a private retreat with wood-paneled interiors and large windows to soak in the passing scenery. The dining car was a true highlight, where gourmet meals were served, paired with exquisite wines. Every evening, we gathered in the lounge car, sharing stories over cocktails, while the observation car at the back of the train provided the perfect spot to watch the African sunset unfold.

This journey wasn’t just about the destination – it was about the experience of traveling in style, savoring each moment, and embracing the romance of rail travel. Would you take this trip of a lifetime? Let us know in the comments!

Abends versammelten wir uns im Lounge-Wagen, um bei Cocktails Geschichten auszutauschen, während der Panoramawagen am Ende des Zuges der perfekte Ort war, um den afrikanischen Sonnenuntergang zu bewundern.
