Let’s keep moving this winter! The weather is milder, the sun is rising sooner. It’s time to keep moving before summer catches us by surprise. Here are our top tips to make training easier this winter.
1. Dress properly. Being warm is important even during exercise.
2. Do a proper warm-up. Everything will feel stiff and tight this time of year. Spend at least 10mins on a full body cardio before jumping into exercise.
3. Training indoors is always an option. Otherwise aim for the warmest times of the day outside. So between 12pm-3pm.
4. Train with a buddy or a coach. They can motivate you and make sure you show up.
5. Set goals. Summer is coming sooner than you think. Choose either a weight loss goal, cm loss goal, or go for a cardio or weight lifting challenge!

Healthy Winter tips from our experts at Eagle Canyon Gym & Wellness Centre
Keeping healthy this winter shouldn’t be a chore! This cold may not be encouraging for exercise but it is still important to look after yourself. Here are some tips to keep yourself healthy this winter.
1. Don’t forget about hygiene. Regular hand washing, regular surface cleaning, avoiding those who are sick, coughing into your elbow... All the covid tips are still as important today!
2. Ensure you are still eating foods with a variety of nutrients. Stews are a great way to get your vegetables in. Fruit juices such as orange juice can give a needed vitamin boost.
3. Hydration is as important now as it is in summer! If you struggle then try more teas like rooibos or fruit teas.
4. MOVEMENT IS LIFE! We know the cold doesn’t make anyone feel active. But even walking on a treadmill or doing light weights can help lift your mood. Dress warm, put on your favourite music, or get a friend to join. Whatever it takes to keep you active!

Did you know? Eagle Canyon Golf Course was awarded the John Collier Gold Level Compliance for environmental 2023/2024 - our second year running. The John Collier Survey is considered an essential tool for the golf industry, providing benchmark data for golf clubs to measure themselves against, uncover industry trends and awareness of issues such as governance, risk and compliance. Each year the golf course receives a ‘toolkit’, which will enables the club to populate and track the required areas of the survey.
