Taking in the view at our Travel Counsellors Head Office today, also taking in our new re-branding which I will share more with you shortly - so there is a little bit of saying goodbye to the old but I am thinking how sometimes we all could do with a refresh, reboot and rebrand from time to time.

It is good for the soul...

P.S. Do you know what really helps to feel refreshed and get that reboot = Travel, I'm just saying!

It's been a wild ride the last few years, I want to thank all of my friends, family, and clients that supported me during the toughest rollercoaster that was the pandemic and everything that came with that.

There is still nowhere else I would rather be than working in travel! Mindsets are shifting on the way we travel and I believe travel, done mindfully and with awareness, can be a great force for good!

Travel is a ready-to-go container for transformation, growth, and learning - just add YOU!

I am approaching 2023 a little differently, with a sense of softness. I am setting my intentions for expansion and ease, which may sound counter intuitive to expand with ease... but there are many ways to approach to life and when you become aware of a way that aligns with you, things tend flow, and I plan on tapping into that more often.

Working for yourself comes with lots of stresses, nevermind all the challenges in the travel industry so I am trying to cultivate an unwavering inner peace so I can face everything thrown at me with a sense of calm.

Looking forward to creating more intentional travel experiences!!

The majestic and awe inspiring Victoria Falls, ladies and gentlemen, it was spectacular!

I honestly felt like I couldn't take enough photos or videos, I could have spent the entire day entire here alone!

Soaking up mother nature at its best... letting the "smoke that thunders" breathe me in and breathe me out! The Victoria Falls is very much ALIVE!

My Story

The amazement of exploring, experiencing, feeling and being somewhere new will always drive humans to travel. Travelling feeds my soul, whether it is in relation to my own travels or helping others explore a world beyond their own.

I am Lize Roodt and I love travel. Inspiring, planning and creating people’s travel dreams into reality is what I do. I have come to believe my love for travel started at very young age, maybe even while I was still my mother’s womb as she sat on the back of a bakkie driving on bumpy road to Sodwana.

I have worked in the travel industry in some way or form since I left high school. I completed my BCom (Hons) in Tourism Management after taking 2 year gap in Europe. I have worked in travel media, tour operator, retail travel and corporate travel. In 2015 I started my own business in partnership with Travel Counsellors and have not looked back.

I believe once you have travelled, it is just an ongoing experience. From the moment you get that feeling to move your feet all the way until your journey home when you already start planning the next trip. It not only the physical travelling portion but the inbetween as well, so the journey never ends once you start.
