What’s happening in Pilgrim’s Rest?
Our tourism members and the residents of Pilgrim’s Rest were very disturbed by recent reports in the media that the town is basically under siege by illegal miners and that it is a dangerous place. This of course has a vastly negative effect on tourism and the sustainability of the town. We were assured by the residents that it is business as usual and although there are illegal miners around the area, their presence does not affect the business centre or tourism to the town. We have requested the media to do a follow-up story and actually visit the area and the town as tourists and report the experience. Linda has offered to accompany them on this visit which is planned to happen in the coming few days. Linda will also see the MEC today with a lengthy agenda, including the solutions for Pilgrim’s Rest.

Oooooooh yummy, my favorite Greek restuarant in the Lowveld

Galaktoboureko! A traditional Greek dessert consisting of a semolina custard pie wrapped in flaky phyllo pastry and topped with a sweet syrup.

The semolina custard is made with milk, sugar, eggs, and semolina, and is flavoured with vanilla and lemon zest. The phyllo pastry is wrapped around the custard and baked until golden brown, then topped with a sweet syrup made from sugar, water, and honey. The base is made of phyllo and Pecan nuts.

Together for the Animals of Marloth Park – brought to you by White River Animal Feeds.

We have been approached by a couple of residents and other people in the community to assist.
We know there are a lot of stories going around but the main issue is the animals do not have food!
It is very dry so we want to challenge the community and other businesses in the area to give a hand.
Visit White River Animal Feeds and buy feed for the animals of Marloth Park and we will also sponsor and arrange transport for the feed to be dropped of at a designated area in the park.
This will be a project until it rains and the animal have natural food in the area again.
We know there are many different opinions but right now a animal is starving and needs our help.
We ask that no EFT to the business is done, please visit the store and purchase the feed.
Feed will not be dropped near houses and the public for the safety of the residents and the safety of the animals.
With each full load we will arrange transport or any business that can help with transporting the feed – please contact us.
