This very elusive bird is actually not so scares in St Lucia. Have been asked many time by close family what bird is that and in my ignorance called it a Parrot Dove.

Over the years Birding started to interest me more and more. On this day I set out to capture a Green Malkoha and it went way better than even I could expect.

Breeding Behavior: The breeding behavior of Green Malkoha is quite unique. The male and female engage in a courtship display, which includes tail-wagging and gift-giving.

Ecological Importance: As a part of the forest ecosystem, the Green Malkoha plays a vital role in controlling insect populations and dispersing seeds.
