INHAMBANE MOZAMBIQUE - The beaches are finally OPEN again in Mozambique, and if this isn’t reason enough to visit … the opportunity to see whales along a dreamy stretch of coast, might just sway you!
A wood-finished oasis perched on a dune, a stone’s throw from the waves of the Indian Ocean, this idyllically property is enviably located on a remote part of the Inhambane coastline in Mozambique. Intimate and sublime, each of the five free-standing suites look out over the ocean. Light, airy and supremely comfortable, suites flow onto a private deck with a dangerously comfortable hammock strung across it! Spend your time in a myriad of relaxing ways… find an inviting nook in the main lodge and curl up with a book; kick back on the deck and spy whales and dolphins frolicking close to shore; recline on a sun lounger around the pool; or float up to the swim-up bar for a cocktail. The sea is great for swimming, and there’s even a solid right-hand break for surfing or bodyboarding. Sava is secluded enough that the stretch of sand in front of the lodge is almost an unofficial ‘private’ beach. And, a couple of kilometres’ walk either way delivers you to the bustling surfer town of Tofo in the south, or Barra’s sprawling strands in the north. Join a local operator on an ocean safari for sightings of humpback whales, and if you’re lucky, snorkel with bottlenose dolphins. Whale sharks are also regularly seen. We could wax lyrical about the food, sourced daily from the sea – lobster, barracuda, blue crab and red snapper … but we’ll let you be the judge of that!
We love | the chilled-out barefoot luxury vibe, phenomenal marine life, the endless beach and warm water – right on your doorstep.
