Salt Drags!


After playing in the dunes, the boys heading to a local Salt Flat for a bit of drag racing. The rigs were put to the test to see who has the longest legs.

It's all fun and games until a gearbox decided to have 5 neutrals. Ant's Patrol didn't appreciate the hard launch and wrecked his gearbox.

Stuck in Lambertsbay dunes!


Dune driving is not as easy at looks, especially if the dunes are as soft as the Lambersbay dunes.
One small lack of focus and you sink like a rock. No matter how much power you have or how big your tires are, the sand will always win. In the end of the day, if you don't get stuck, you're not having fun. It's part of the wheeling experience and we had ropes and many other rigs to help the bogged rigs out again.

Deserts and Diamonds Dash


Last week the Cape Route Rally spent time in the dunes of South Africa and even Namibia!

The Desert and Diamonds Dash takes the group of eager sand hungry rigs and drivers up the west-coast of South Africa and into Namibia for 4 days of dune and sand driving. Each day a new dune location presents new challenges and scenarios. Over 2'500km was driven over the 4 days as the rigs and rhe drivers gets pushed to their limits. The sand driving requires hard work and concentration from both the driver and the vehicle.

In the next few weeks, you can expect loads of dune content, from rigs drifting the dunes, bogged in the sand, epic landscape and breakages. Another epic Cape Route Rally completed with tons of epic content to showcase our beautiful continent and very skillful drivers. Watch this space!

Day 1 of the Cape Route Rally Deserts & Diamonds Dash is in the books!

Our participants hit the road with excitement, heading to the iconic Lamberts Bay Dunes. The adrenaline kicked in as they tore through the sand, going sideways and kicking up clouds of dust in true rally style.

After a day full of thrills, everyone gathered around the fire to relax, share stories, and gear up for the next challenging day ahead. The adventure has only just begun!

Introducing Louis from DSX

The man, the myth, the legend!

Louis is the guide of the Cape Route Rally. He is the man behind the routes we drive. He has spent years in the off-road industry, owning his own fitment and custom 4x4 shop out in the Worcester area.

Through the years of wheeling, he has gained the knowledge of all these extreme routes we find. Using his vast network, he gets us private access to land and level 5 or beyond routes. He spends many hours reccing the routes prior to the events, to ensure they are open and up to his standard. His years of experience has also made him a phenomenal spotter, able to give advice and guide the group through the most difficult obstacles.

The next rally "Desert and Diamonds" takes place soon. Keep an eye on the socials for that event. If you want to be part of the event as a driver, sponsor or have a good route we should attempt. Let us know!
