Day 15: Goodbye Kruger for now...
Final dinner after an extraordinary 15 days with delightful people from across the world. Our journey meandered through the Kruger NP from the northern tip of Pafuri to Crocodile Bridge in the south. Today two of our guests flew to Jhb international to start their journey back to the USA filled with memories of mating lions, wild dogs and hyenas. An elephant a day turned into hundreds of great game-watching moments.
The bird enthusiasts have opted to tail our safari with a 3-night pamper stay at a luxury private lodge before they return to the UK - also arranged by Tina.

Day 13 and 14: Lower Sabie
Nile crocodile, nesting weavers, mating giraffes and an injured wild dog - injured by an impala while hunting. A heron rides on a hippo's back. Great days on the Sabie River.

15-day Private Family Safari, July 2022
Wonderful 15-day private family safari for 6 adults and 2 teens in Kruger National Park. The pre-trip communications and arrangements with Neil Heron's wife Tina were clear, concise, professional and very well done. Since this was an 'all-inclusive' adventure, she even made sure that any special dietary needs or requirements were discussed and arranged for.
Our host and guide for the entire trip, Neil Heron, along with his assistant Roan, and his son Jack could not have taken better care of us. The planning and ex*****on by all involved was excellent. The 'rest camp' accomodations were fine and the meals that they prepared were very good.
During the entire trip, and particularly while on the extensive game drives, what was most impressive was Neil's encyclopedic knowledge of all things Kruger, including the animals, the birds, the insects, the flora and fauna, and even the terrain. The whole experience was so much more than just driving around looking for animals.
For those in the family who had never done this kind of thing, this was definitely one of those 'trip of a lifetime' experiences.

Day 12: Satara - It was a predator day today. Two huge black-mained lions, another coalition of six males, wild dogs and hyenas. The meandering Nwanetsi River provided great excitement as - it not only delivered all the predators - but a herd of more than 1 000 buffalo.
Plus we saw a varanus albigularis albigularis also known as a rock or white-throated monitor lizard. - Neil Heron

Day 8 and 9: Our days at Sirheni started off with a hunting party of 4 lionesses lying sprawled under some woolly caper and water nuxia bushes. They gave us 'alone time' to watch for a couple of hours as they stayed watchful for opportunity.
A giraffe bull almost stepped on a lioness. Neither saw the other and both gave a startled hop and skip.
The surface water on the Mphongolo has all but dried up. Wells dug by elephants and a few pools formed by the basalt bed host all those that are thirsty. Elephants galore, giraffe, buffalo and a myriad of singing birds happy to see the water after a lengthy walk away for good grazing.
The early signs of summer rains have buds and fruit and new green leaves at the ready for the browsers and the birds and the insects in the heat are a veritable feast for the migrant birds returning.
These two nights have been fun filled and exciting. Tracking the spirit of safari, and enjoying natures lessons are always contemplated over a cold glass of wine or beer and a great meal.
The lions were topped by a new mating pair of lions less than 5 metres from us.
Let's see what tomorrow brings on the river. We are moving further south, filled with the wilderness and super privileged to be watching wild animals in this great space.
