We are honoured and proud to support Women Owned Businesses ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿฟ

Tsholofelo Gaechose is an entrepreneur doing Agribusiness, supplying us with the freshest veggies. She exclusively sources from strictly Organic Small Scaled Local farmers, encouraging environmentally sustainable farming in our communities.

Now a mother of three, her entrepreneurial journey started 7years ago when she left insurance business to start farming. She signed up at Emdeni Skills Development Centre for a year acquiring new knowledge on permaculture and hydroponics and thatโ€™s how Kutasari was born.

Kutasari is an Agribusiness she started inspired by small farmers mainly in Soweto, who were producing wonderful crops but struggled with accessing the market. She started an ecosystem which connects people, farmers and food. Working with local farmers, buying and assisting with formalising their businesses and also offering delivery services directly to customers - Farm to Fork. Kutasari delivers in JHB and PTA and all the places in between!

Tsholofelo also co-founded a women-only Co-operative 'Mutahad Waste' which focuses on horticulture and waste management in Soweto. She was fortunate to have been selected as 2022 GIBS-Corteva exposing her to endless possibilities in Agriculture.

Let's keep finding genuine ways to empower our Women ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

It's this Friday 9th August โœŠ๐Ÿฟ

Join us as we commemorate the 68th Anniversary since the more than 20 000 Women march of 1956 against the Domestic Passports that were an instrument of restricting the movement of our people as part of the Group Areas Act.

We have insightful tours and delicious meals to honour the Queens who fought against the Oppressive Apartheid Regime and paved our way to Freedom!

All our morning tours will depart at 10am at Lebo's and will go around to visit the Former Women's Hostels that were segregated accommodation for Domestic Workers. Our very important highlight will be the iconic Lillian Ngoyi house and then include the Hector Pietersen Memorial Site and Nelson Mandela's House.

A delicious lunch and drinks will be at our Outdoor Restaurant where we will continue with the special celebrations for the day until dinner in the evening.

Last night's with Mam Khutsafalo Mothai ๐Ÿ“š ๐Ÿ”ฅ Mam Khutsafalo was one of the nurses at the Baragwanath Hospital during the Soweto Uprisings on June 16 1976. She and her colleagues found themselves in the chaos that erupted in the township, and as careworkers, they had to care for hundreds of wounded children on that faithful day. They rose to the task and became more than just nurses. They were Activists and Mothers who tirelessly saved many lives that would otherwise be lost.

Where we know a lot about the from a political point of view, the stories of the Unsung heroes are often untold. Thank you, Mam Khutsafalo, for sharing your story . What a way to start โœŠ๐Ÿพ

Are you ready to kick off with ?! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‘ธ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฟ Three amazing Women will grace us on stage this coming Sunday.

We bring you Ntokozo Vilakazi , Amukelani and Katlego, all powerful artists that have shaped their artistry on the Sawubonamusicjam stage.

Ntokozo is a young artist with a powerfully big voice. You can hear the echoes of Mam Busi Mhlongo's spirit when she performs and her deep love of self and her people is always felt through her music.

From Chiawelo the home of Sawubona, young and with enough energy to set any stage on fire, Amukelani calls herself XhoShangane. She adds a mix of Xhosa and Xitsonga to her pop sound.

Katlego backed with a brass band, is a classical singer that has a sound that is reminiscent of the golden Era of icons such as Miriam Makeba and the jazz greats of the time.

All hailing from Soweto. We bring them to you as we celebrate the female voices on our local music scene ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ
