There’s misperception that the people of colour don’t love animals, specifically dogs, however I say it’s not true. There’s just lack of understanding and knowledge.
Thankfully, through the Soweto Animal Rescue and Advisory Centre, change is happening and there’s hope.

SARAC Objectives is to promote responsible animal ownership through education. It is proven that many people commit animal cruelty purely due to the lack of knowledge, some still think that it is correct and acceptable to chain, tether, cage and confine animals. We believe that animal have the right to experience a life of respect and free from unnecessary suffering.
