Die Museum het onlangs 2 nuwe uitstallings geopen. Die Lubbe-gebou se uitstallings is panele met inligting oor die steentydperk, die ontstaan van Stellenbosch en die koloniale geskiedenis. Verder is daar uitstalkaste met interessante argeologiese artefakte. Daar is ook ‘n inter aktiewe tydlyn oor die mense van Stellenbosch van 1679 tot 2000.

Dit sal 'n interesante uitstappie vir oud en jonk gedurende die eerskomende vakansie wees.

In 2014 Tripadvisor identified the Stellenbosch Village Museum amongst the top 25 museums in Africa. Considering the small subsidy of only R370 000 per annum and a personnel shortage it is indeed an achievement. Your continued support as a Friend of the Museum is therefore much appreciated.

The Friends of Stellenbosch Museum and the Archaeological Society of the Western Cape's annual lecture series will be held on Sunday 31 August from 10:00 - 15:30 at Erfurt House. The influence of the contact between the Dutch settlers, trekboers and the Khoisan will be discussed. Aspect such as the change in the nomadic life style of the Khoekhoen. The reciprocal influence on the building traditions of the trekboers and the Khoekhoen. The impact of the first missionaries and what happened to the Khoe and San during the 19th century in the Karoo.
