We can almost leave this photo uncaptioned. For those who know, knows exactly and without a doubt the immense value for the Chas Everitt Soutern Cape team that is captured here.

A ship needs a captain, one who can set sail on calm waters, but more so, one who can navigate the stormy weather, take calculated risks and keep his crew thriving (yes thriving not just surviving).

We are extremely fortunate to have Charles De K**k as our captain. Even more, we are confident and rely on him even when storms come.

As for the two extraordinary women at his side... Agter elke suksesvolle man is daar 'n vrou (en moenie vergeet van sy ma nie)

They are the unsung heroes. When the office doors locks and its time to go home. They inspire, support, help guide and takes care of him; who then reciprocates it back into the company.

Before we realised it our AGM came around again and was held at the very comfortable conference facility of Aan de Eike Guest House. A good turnout of members attended and it was inspiring to see how many members of our community are interested in ensuring that our Town continues to grow and flourish. Thank you to our members for joining us in this worthwhile cause. Many thanks to Jannie Oosthuizen and Edward Thirion from PSG Wealth: Swellendam, Ladismith, Riversdal, Caledon for your sponsorship of the evening and for organising our guest speaker, the well known public speaker in the financial and political arena Ronald King. Thank you to Charl du Toit from SV Security services for co-sponsoring this event. After an inspiring annual report from our Chairman Charles De K**k it was time to listen to an incredibly interesting and inspiring presentation on the financial and political future of South Africa. He presented us with many statistics and facts but also a new angle of how we personally approach and deal with our future in SA. A refreshing way of thinking and much hope for the future, as long as we work together. We need to do our bit. I am pretty confident that most left the evening with lots of food for thought. Talking about food there were amazing snacks and a well stocked cash bar which all contributed to a good evening. The Swellendam Business Forum has had an extremely successful year and we are fortunate to have such a dynamic committed committee in our community.

On behalf of the Swellendam Business Forum and all its members we would like to welcome the Old Mutual Wealth Double Century cycling race to Swellendam. For the community this is a lovely weekend filled with visitors, cyclists, families and support crews. Thank you for choosing Swellendam as the host town. We do appreciate having this event on our calendar. Happy cycling.
