The cabins are set on the banks of the Mzimkulu River which offers wonderful flyfishing, swimming, tubing and canoeing as well as shady picnic spots and an incredible array of birdlife and water fowl.

Well, at Tin Can Trout Farm, we believe it means no ESKOM, no wifi or DSTV, no hair driers and curling irons... just the calming sounds of nature, of cows lowing in their field across the river, of water plunging over rapids on an eternal quest for adventure, of birds, and bees, horses and the happy laughter of rural children at play.

At Tin Can Trout Farm just outside Underberg in KZN, our off-grid cabins are well equipped for the weather with indoor wood burning fireplaces and extra thick blankets.
Our cabins are set on a smallholding alongside the Mzimkulu River which is flowing well after all the rain and snow that fell in Lesotho recently.
For the angler, the trout are biting, so don't forget your fly tackle.
For the hikers, we have some gentle hikes on the property, as well as prolific bird life for the twitchers.

It's a rather chilly 3°c at Tin Can Trout Farm today, but that's no problem because our cosy units have wood stoves and extra thick and snuggly blankets to keep our guests warm.
We wouldn't suggest a swim in the river today, but on sunnier days the water is beautifully clear and the riverside picnic spot is perfect for lazy family get togethers. The trout are biting, so don't forget to bring your fly tackle!
The Sani Stagger is coming up soon and our twin cabins (there are 4 of these) offer the perfect solution to affordable self catering accommodation for team mates looking for a base for the weekend.
