What a way to end 2020!

The day started like any hunting day, rifles and gear ready, everything ready for the the evenings hunt.

As the sun set over the green , lush and warm , we settled into the perfect spot.
As darkness hit, we could see nothing, but heard every single sound of the bushveld.
Half moon in the sky we knew the night was going to be great.

Suddenly the silence of the night was broken by wild dogs feasting on a carcass.
Loud grunts from an upset leopard who lost his pray to the wild dogs.

Then a loud “wwwhhhhooooopppp!!” and all hell broke loose. Hyenas chasing wild dogs, wild dogs chasing hyenas, leopard long gone and out of sight.

Then a sudden silence as this amazing creature walks in...

Inkasi Lodge

Inkasi, the Shangaan name for Fish Eagle, is home to a prolific array of wildlife, which includes: cheetah, lion, leopard, wildebeest, buffalo, impala, nyala, duiker, steenbuck, zebra, hyena, giraffe and an abundance of bird species.

The Inkasi Lodge is located deep in the bush on the edge of the Klaserie River in the Northern Province of South Africa, close to the Kruger National Park.

THE BIG FIVE CAN BE SEEN IN THE AREA.

Enjoy the sounds of local bird life, including the cry of the eagle from which the lodge earned its name.
