The hunting safaris in Mozambique predominately take place in the Maua and Maruppa concessions, in Niassa Province. Here the areas offer an abundance of elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo,sable and other plains game spanning over thousands of hectares. The hunting concessions in Mozambique are some of the last, truly wild areas left in Southern Africa. In these areas you will not see fences to separ

ate areas, and to inclose game, and the infrastructure are very limited in these wild areas. The concessions in Mozambique are truly the untouched gem of Africa, and one of the few areas in Africa that permits big game hunting. Safaris range from 10 days to 21 days, and are tailored made for you, according to your preference.

After years and years of what sometimes feels like an uphill and unrewarding battle of anti poaching activities, continuous engagement with the local community and authorities, and the daily removal of illegal miners and the poaching that comes with their presence from the area - it’s such a gift to see elephant around the camp almost everyday now. It’s been years in the making! Sometimes uninformed critics only see the hunting and condemn it, however they don’t understand the conservation that goes behind maintaining a hunting concession in Africa. The hunting part is just the tip of the iceberg.

Nice size buffalo bull 👍🏻 this hunt was very eventful- the buffalo was initially wounded, and after a day of tracking, a fair amount of climbing up trees to get away and at one stage the buffalo turned back and started tracking us, we eventually managed to take him down. **er

We hunted this epic crocodile we hunted this year. This beast measured 4.55m long! Hunted with a 416 Rigby and peregrine bushmasters.

The JVZ team love hunting so much, they even go hunting in their time off! Here is Gareth, with a Black wildebeest that he shot with a CZ 550 laminated varmit and a Nightforce scope, in Reddersburg this past weekend. This was quite the hunt, with the farm having the typical flat landscape of the freestate and long shots being the order of the day, Gareth needed to leopard crawl over a rocky hill in order to get close enough to shoot.
