FS 5 Game Breeders

Our main objective is to breed good quality animals in line with the best practices in the game farming industry. The farm "Blesboklaagte" is situated between Viljoenskroon and Kroonstad in the Free State, adapting our animals to very cold winters and harsh conditions. The decision to breed with golden wildebeest was enhanced with the purchase of our breeding bull, "Castle" from York Safaris. The

suitability of the farm for Oryx prompted us to obtain a hard of long horn cows, which we coupled with an exceptional quality golden bull named “Klein Buis” measuring 38’ at two years. “Venus” the mother of “Klein Buis” is currently documented as the golden cow with the longest horns measuring an astonishing 45.5’. One of the fundamentals for FS 5 Game Breeders is to ensure that all our animals’ history, together with the collection and maintaining of DNA, is well documented. All our herds run on a single sire basis, to ensure we maintain control of genetic selections. FS 5 Game Breeders is a proud member of Wildlife Ranching South Africa (WRSA).
