We tried out some dishes at the Local Chinese take away restaurant on 79 Main rd, Saldanha. Some of their dishes landed on our favourite list.
Their mixed combo sushi is delicious!!! 👉👉 The Prawn and Veggie Spring Rolls and the Prawn Chow mein. If you havent tried it yet you should really go- no dissapointments.

STRAWBERRY TART

STRAWBERRY FRIDGE TART

Cape Malay Cooking with Fatima Sydow

Ingredients
1 packet of Tennis biscuits
250 ml of fresh cream
2 x strawberry jelly
1 kg of Strawberry Yoghurt
Strawberries, 1 flake and whipped cream for garnish .

Method .

Add your 2 packets of strawberry jelly into a small bowl , add 2 cups of boiling water and stir well , place in the fridge to cool down and get really cold but not set .

Once the jelly is cooled take out of the fridge , whip your fresh cream till stiff peaks forms , add the yoghurt to the fresh cream , mix till well combined , add the jelly and mix again with hand whisk till you see no more streaks .

Take your tennis biscuits and dunk them one by one in a small bowl with water and lay them neatly next to each other at the bottom of your dessert dish. Pour over the strawberry mixture and level with the back of a spoon. Allow to set in fridge for 3 hours . Decorate with cream and strawberries and flake. Serve.

Koeke-Kyk-Resep - 6 Julie 2017

Bar One koek

2 koppies meel
2 teelepels bakpoeier
1 en 'n driekwart koppies strooisuiker
1 koppie melk
75 ml olie
5 eiers
1 teelepel vanilla
sout
2 eetlepels kakao

Klits die eiers goed en die voeg suiker by en klits verder. Verhit die melk en olie. Sif die droeë bestanddele by met olie.

Bak vir 30 minute teen 180'C.

Vulsel
250 ml Orley Whipp imitation cream
pakkie karamel kitspoeding
1 koppie melk
blikkie karamel kondensmelk
2 x 100 g bar one gerasper

Klits orley whipp tot styf, voeg dan kitspoeding by en klits weer, voeg dan melk by, klits verder, en voeg dan die kondensmelk. Voeg dan een en 'n halwe bar one by, die res word bo-oor gestrooi.
