Head to the coast where the flowers are in full bloom in 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗳𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 and surrounding areas. Explore the back gravel roads or hike the 10km to Doringbaai and enjoy a unique wine tasting experience at Fryer's Cove Vineyards

𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗿𝗵𝘆𝗻𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗽 area is also still worth a visit where Maskam Guest Farm's two flower routes are perfect to drive or even hike. Wanting to road trip further? Then take the R27 towards 𝗡𝗶𝗲𝘂𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗱𝘁𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 which is now in full flower mode after the last couple of days of warm weather. En route to Nieuwoudtville, you will also see flowers. Stop at Bagdad Cafe for brunch.

Visit Letsatsi Wedding Venue and Lifestyle Lodge to enjoy a lovely stroll in their beautiful gardens and savour a meal at their restaurant.

Heading north on the N7? You will not be disappointed - take the road less travelled and visit 𝗞𝗼𝘁𝘇𝗲𝘀𝗿𝘂𝘀. We recommend staying at Nuwefonteinskop Lodge where you can see flowers, experience a unique nature drive and have sundowners at the beach!

Wynmakers en Wingerdboukundiges van die Weskus Wynroete het Dinsdag middag, 20 Augustus,by Lutzville Wingerde by mekaar gekom om die jaar se inskrywings vir die Nasionale Jongwynskou in Streeksverband te vier. Die streek se beste wyne is aangekondig en Trofee’s is uitgedeel.

🏆Klawer Wynkelder stap weg met die beste wyn in die streek met hul Hanepoot Jeripiko en spog nou met die KWV Kampioen Wyn Trofee.

🏆Namaqua Wines ontvang die Wemmie van Zyl Trofee. Die trofee word toegeken aan die beste inskrywings uit edel kultivars op nasionale vlak.

Dankie aan Lutville Wingerde wat as gasheer vir ons 'n heerlike middag ete voorberei het.

🍷Hiermee die resultate, baie geluk aan al die kelders – julle het goeie uitslae behaal vir die 2024 Jongwynskou.

Let asseblief daarop dat die Strandfontein Chalets en Kampeerterrein tydelik gesluit is weens opknappings. Terwyl reeds bevestigde besprekings geëer sal word, sal geen nuwe besprekings aanvaar word tot verdere kennisgewing nie.
Die komende Madeliefie Makietie-fees in Oktober sal nie deur die sluiting geraak word nie.

Please note that the Strandfontein Chalets and Camping Site is temporarily closed due to renovations. While bookings already confirmed will be honored, no new bookings will be accepted until further notice.
The upcoming Madeliefie Makietie festival in October will not be affected by the closure.

Finding the beauty on rainy days for the flower season...
It has been a cold and rainy couple of days. Unfortunately, we have no control over the weather, but there is still beauty to find out there...

🗺Our suggestion is to head towards Nieuwoudtville on cold and rainy days. The beautiful town and landscape will not disappoint. The highlights, to name a few, are the old church in the middle of town, the Quiver tree forest and the waterfall.

ℹ️Visit the nurseries in Vanrhynsdorp.
