A magnificent weekend on Wakkerstroom. Celebrating 165 years ( the town, not my age). Thanks to the organisers and the participants. You spoilt us!! I saw grown men choke up when the pipers played. Goosebumps moments!

In the process, I added a little pop to the kitchen and front veranda got some new cushions. It's almost garden planting time..so winter projects are coming to an end. Hahaha, they never end, and we Love it!

So our Old Dame is now very grand indeed! Apart from some serious Botox, she acquired a new hat and bonnet as well!! Thank you to Home Squared, Deon, Gladwell and Given for completing the new patio roof from scratch in just four days!! Incredible job!!! Looks like it was always there!!

Lovely afternoon out at the Slang River by Zaaihoek dam. The water is low enough to cross to the other side and take a really good walk. Love taking photos in monochrome sometimes. If life feels black and white, just fill in the colour yourself!!

I wanted a pond on the land with a few plants. Water features are always nice, quite calming. Then I built this! Plants on the way next month.. over 100 Lavender for the terrace slope just to name a few .

Here are the contact details to find out more regarding the Jimmy Festival. The Wakkerstroom Tourism Association has now updated its website. Wakkerstroom.co.za. Message from Organizers: We will do two routes by 4x4 on Saturday the 20th morning: climb ossewa Kop and/or drive the road from the groenvlei turnoff on the piet retief road round past the airstrip. That will be in the morning Saturday. Then Saturday afternoon we will gather on the Main Street or church grounds and take a drone photo. Then there will be a street braai in front of the hotel with music Saturday night.
