In the process, I added a little pop to the kitchen and front veranda got some new cushions. It's almost garden planting time..so winter projects are coming to an end. Hahaha, they never end, and we Love it!

So our Old Dame is now very grand indeed! Apart from some serious Botox, she acquired a new hat and bonnet as well!! Thank you to Home Squared, Deon, Gladwell and Given for completing the new patio roof from scratch in just four days!! Incredible job!!! Looks like it was always there!!

Lovely afternoon out at the Slang River by Zaaihoek dam. The water is low enough to cross to the other side and take a really good walk. Love taking photos in monochrome sometimes. If life feels black and white, just fill in the colour yourself!!

I wanted a pond on the land with a few plants. Water features are always nice, quite calming. Then I built this! Plants on the way next month.. over 100 Lavender for the terrace slope just to name a few .

Here are the contact details to find out more regarding the Jimmy Festival. The Wakkerstroom Tourism Association has now updated its website. Wakkerstroom.co.za. Message from Organizers: We will do two routes by 4x4 on Saturday the 20th morning: climb ossewa Kop and/or drive the road from the groenvlei turnoff on the piet retief road round past the airstrip. That will be in the morning Saturday. Then Saturday afternoon we will gather on the Main Street or church grounds and take a drone photo. Then there will be a street braai in front of the hotel with music Saturday night.

Very happy Bikers on their way home. Been here since Wednesday, braai meat, wood, briquettes and the sides provided. Beers and extra ice purchased on their behalf while they were out and waiting in the fridge for them to pop a cold one. Baked a bit of sustenance for them after a very long trip on the dirt on Saturday! Booked a table at Red Rooster for the Platteland experience for their last night. Sooo, come along Bikers, we make it effortless for you with your limited space!!

We also offer catered meals, just pop them in the oven, sit back and enjoy time with your loved ones! For this party we did a Bobotie, Rice and veg and for the second night we did the salads. Very chuft gent that he only had to braai and his wife got to relax for her 50th!

Fancy a Midweek break away from the hustle and bustle? Don't worry about traffic lights not working in our Dorpie...we don't have any!! With free uncapped WIFI now connected in all our accommodation, you can work while you are away (if you really have to!). Midweek specials are on until 30 November. Normal rates are R450 per person per night, but from Sunday until Friday there is a 10 % discount. Also, Pensioner's discounts have been implemented for any dates, 10% on your entire stay. Minimum two night's stay in both cases. For Pensioner's the discount applies to everyone staying with you, as long as 50% of the occupancy is people over 60.

For those who appreciate a bit of history we have our Grand Old Lady ( getting a facelift soon, filling in some wrinkles..) Mahem House, built in 1890. Sleeps 9 in 4 bedrooms, each with a theme: Main Bedroom, Ladies Bo***ir, Gentleman's room and children's room. Original Oregon details, coal stove, fireplace, king sized beds with luxury bedding and full size bath sheet towels. Shower gel, bath soak, facial wipes and hand cream. Entertainers kitchen with plenty crockery and cutlery. Firewood, briquettes and firelighters are provided ( as in all our houses). Local Roastery coffee, a selection of teas, ice...too much to mention. Pack your clothes and come and unwind! You WILL come back!! 😁
