We continue our FREE FRIDAY training sessions and elaborate on the current changes in the real estate industry.
The current Real Estate NQF4 qualification ends on 30 June 2024! From the 1st of July 2024 all new entrants and anyone who should be qualified, but hasn’t yet enrolled or qualified, should commence with the new QCTO Real Estate training.
Lee Roelofse of Infinity Academy, an esteemed property trainer, and holder of accreditation for the new QCTO qualification, agreed to enlighten us to explain everything we need to know about the new qualification.

Urgent Skills Development Providers:

We implore Minister Dr. Blade Nzimande to extend the legacy qualifications and unit standards of the SETAs for a duration of three years. It is imperative to emphasize the severe ramifications of failing to extend these provisions. Job losses would escalate, endangering the livelihoods of countless individuals.

We call upon the Minister to closely oversee the alignment of SETAs with occupational qualifications and skills programs, employing a streamlined approach. Monitoring SETAs is crucial to mitigate delays that could further exacerbate the situation.

Immediate action is indispensable to safeguard current employment, sustain operating businesses, and facilitate uninterrupted educational pursuits for learners. We wholeheartedly endorse this plea and petition, affirming our support through participation and signature.

Based on the Skills Development Levies Act, Agencies with staff salaries, including commissions and bonuses of R500 000 monthly, must register with Services SETA and remit SDL (Skills Development Levies) equivalent to 1% of staff salaries and bonuses to SARS monthly.
1. The Agency should designate a registered Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) before commencing related functions
2. Infinity Academy offers accredited training for SDF (ETDP SETA and QCTO), presenting an opportunity for the Agency’s skills development BEE strategy, promoting inclusivity and integration into the Organisation BEE Management Plan.
3. The appointed SDF is responsible for implementing a Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) to be submitted to the relevant SETA by April 30th annually, outlining the training agenda for the fiscal year.
4. Encouragement is given for Agencies to invest in their OWN staff by utilising accredited training providers like Infinity Academy programs
5. The SDF of the Agency should compile and submit their Annual Training Reports (ATR) by March 31st each year, showcasing implemented plans and achieved outcomes.
The process yields several benefits, including accruing BEE points and potential reimbursement from the SETA for training investments, fostering staff development and maintaining BEE compliance.

Agencies whose annual turnover amounts to less than R2.5 million fall under the category of Exempt Micro Enterprises (EMEs). Agencies whose annual turnover amounts to R2.5 million up to R35 million fall under the category of Qualifying Small Enterprises (QSE).
QSEs are to obtain a minimum of 40 or more points at a level 8 contributor, 10% recognition level, to be BEE compliant to renew their Agencies PPRA FFC in 2025 with PPRA.
