These magnificent boys caused quite a stir yesterday. Dominating a main access road to Skukuza, they caused traffic jams and a bit of mayhem. Being so habituated to traffic, they were totally unfazed by vehicles and the raised tempers of visitors and workers trying to get past them.
Blessed to arrive later on in the day, I was able to do a super slow drive-by without incident of any kind. There was only one "lane" open and it was the " very close" one.
Looking forward to obtaining the ID of these boys. The one with the wound next to his eye is one I've seen before in an area much further away. I hope to catch up on the recent dynamics of these two soon.

This is what we were doing during our break from tours in December.
What is tourism without purpose? What is purpose without community? And what is community without hope?
This has been part of our core values in tourism, but it's been a long haul to get this far. There's so much more behind the scenes, a tremendous amount of trial and error, perseverance and development, encouragement and comraderie, determination and hard work. A long list of people made our projects possible. Our gratitude is immeasurable and we hope to continue with so much more in the future.
A journey of friendship, support and inspiration is deeply meaningful to us. At Amber Africa Safaris, we know how privileged we are to share the vast splendours of nature with our guests, but we are ever mindful of the people whose communities we drive through en-route to our safari and adventure destinations. We've been in the heart of the rural areas where leadership wealth never seems to reach, promises are never fulfilled and the struggle is relentless. Places where humbleness reigns and yet smiles are bright. This is where true beauty can be found in the thankful hearts of the ones who own the least.
