Had a rad canyon and abseil trip with some wildlife spotting, saw this leopard tortoise and a family of bush pigs that were too quick for any photos.

Boophone disticha or Oxbane
Found predominantly in the Karroo but there are small patches of dry rocky outcrops in coastal areas where they can still hang on to life.

This is the first time I've ever seen one around my local area in the Kaaimans River Valley and what a special moment it has been, I've always loved this plant for its magnificent flower heads which I am definitely going to come back for in a few weeks.

Had the privelage of doing the Otter trail in late September.

Went as a guide for a group of 5 tough and gutsy woman who made the trip so much more memorable, many great laughs on the journey.

The weather was cold and wet, rain and wind creating intense river crossings which were tricky to deal with at times.

But the rivers are iconic and there is so much wealth of natural beauty in this area of the world no matter the weather.

There were level 9 weather warnings but fortunately they didn't materialise over our heads, the wind was powerful though.

Bloukrans was too foamy and rough and the hightide times were outrageous so the crossing wasn't possible.

Thanks to .falls for making the trip possible and being incredible hosts before and after our journey.

First Tree ID walk in Wilderness happened last weekend on the 4th of Feb, what a beautiful turn out it was and blessed to meet such lovely humans wanting to learn more about trees and deepen their connection with the local Forest.

This is a must do for all Garden Route locals as we have such rich forest tree diversity and always a good chance to see the Knysna Loerie and the elusive Narina trogon.

Next walk will be held on Saturday 25th of Feb.
