We collected Chris and Lucy from their guest house Serendipity by boat, then transported them by road to the start of their paddle. René accompanied them across Island Lake, down the Serpentine, up the Touw River and back down to Serendipity, 13.8km in all.

15km paddle from Woodcutter's Bushcamp to Ebb and Flow and back. We saw a variety of water birds. 2 Little Bittern, Half-collared Kingfisher, Malachite Kingfisher, Hundreds of Cape Cormorant, Reed Cormorant, White-breasted Cormorant, Yellow-billed Duck, Black Duck, Red-billed Teal, Purple heron, Cattle egret, Little Grebe, Great-crested Grebe, Red-knobbed Coot, Egyptian Geese and many more. Also saw Silver Serpent of Wilderness River Safaris on the Touw River with a full load of returning guests.
