Watching the Sunrises from our property is a real treat. As our property overlooks the Champagne Valley, the sun picks up the best of the landscape and makes for a wonderful start to the day.

Our dams are stocked with fish, and with the warmer weather, it is a good time to get those fishing reels picked when you stay at our accommodation.

The holiday house can sleep up to 10 guests, and has plenty of space and facilities to cater for everyone. We are off-grid with Solar power, and have always on WiFi for all your internet entertainment.

Our new installation at Berg Air has been a popular addition!

We were privalaged to receive the beloved "The Snow Goose", the one and only 123-series glider ever imported into South Africa. It is a Schweizer SGS-1-23H, which is a single-seat mid-wing glider designed and built in the state of New York, USA. Only 600 were ever produced, and this particular one made it to South Africa.

With several passionate owners, it has found its resting place at our Airfield El Mirador, or better known as Berg Air. Both Kids and Adults are encouraged to play and interact with the glider, and get to imagine the feel of gliding.

Visit Berg Air Lifestyle Center off the R600 in the Champagne Valley. You will find a variety of shops and restaurants, and enjoy light aircraft coming into land on the Airfield.

We have have had several cold fronts over the past month, and just this past week we have had some very frosty cold mornings!

Two weeks ago we had a delightful display of snow on our mountains. A light dusting of snow came right down to the Lower Berg!

We are fortunate that our Guest House is well insulated, with heaters and a Large fireplace to keep everyone warm! Our rooms also get beautiful morning sunshine, so its easy to thaw out in the sunshine.

South African Winters are a unique experience, as the days are warm and clear, with below zero temperatures at night. You can really get a wonderful holiday when you visit the Drakensberg.

It's just 10 days until our Berg Air Festival, and we are so excited! We are thrilled to be featured in our district newspaper Ladysmith Gazette this week.

Tickets are getting booked up, so please don't delay in getting yours-R170 per adult seated in the tent with warm fires, R129 in the open on the flight line. R46 per child 4-12years. Under 4 is free.

Seating is open from 3:30pm, and the first concert of the Drakensberg Boys Choir is due to start at 4pm. Amira is to perform at 5pm, and the Hot Air Balloons are to do a 'Night Glow' show from 6pm.

🦓Our beautiful Zebras are an icon of our property. You will most likely see them grazing as you enter at the gate, but they get to enjoy 40 Hectares of flush grasslands. We also have buck, birdlife and a trout hatchery on the property.

The Zebras aren't a danger to house guests as they stay out of the way and don't bother people.

Have you been on our Osborn Trail yet? Enjoy an excellent hike on a 42 Hectare property in the Champagne valley. It is a guided hike with your host Hannes, and is open to the public.

The short route is a roughly 50 min, and the long route is 90 minutes. There is so much to see and enjoy on our property- come see our trout feeding dams, 2 Bushman painting sites and 4 waterfalls!

Bookings are essential, and hikes can be done Wednesday -Sunday.

The Castor Oil is an excellent treatment for painful and inflamed muscles, due to it naturally occurring antioxidants and omega 9 fatty acids.
