A great time of year. I count about 11 blooms coming up. It is still fairly warm, so we might get to see the flowers open again this year before the frost burns them. Fingers crossed🤞🤞🤞🤞

We have been wondering when autumn will start in our garden. Well, Saturday was a crisp 5, Sunday was a fresh 6 and this morning was a crispy fresh 4 degrees. And just like that, the weekend started changing the leaf colours and the leaves are only starting to fall now……. As we head to the end of Autumn to see what winter will bring.

What to do when the WiFi is down and you cannot do computer work? Walk in the garden and appreciate the beauty all around. Cannot believe it is nearly the end of Autumn and still so much colour. Leaves have not changed or fallen yet.

A busy day in Tourism. Little Acres was selected for a walkabout by a few delegates to see our establishment and off-the-grid system. So while the valley had load shedding, the delegates could still put lights on for their photo’s. Then off to the function at Drakensberg Sun for the Tourism Excellence Service Awards which we were fortunate to be a recipient of.

Little Acres is proudly off-the-grid. Totally solar powered with a back up generator when the occasional need arises.
We recycle our dry waste and we worm farm and compost our wet waste.

Another sad day at Little Acres. Our old boy Bentley went to be with his brother James in doggie heaven. James died Monday 24th January and Bentley today, the 23rd May.
Bentley wasn’t eating well on the weekend and was very weak this morning. His X-ray showed full blown lung cancer. Hardly any healthy lung tissue left.
Our faithful gentle baby, never moaned, always wanting to please his human family.
Bentley missed his brother terribly, so at least I get comfort that they are both resting together.

Our hearts are full and happy. We have grown our family by two more poochies. Jett(black male) and Bella(beige female) checking out their new garden with Bentley and Cyrus. Thank you to Greg Kitto and his family for allowing us to be the new family to these two treasures.

It is a very sad day at Little Acres today. Our beloved James died during the night after eating a great dinner and sitting outside with Mommy and Daddy. No signs of bites or poison, so guess it was his heart. We are heart broken! James cheered up many a guest and even calmed children and adults that were scared of dogs, showing he was a gem. Runs and walks won’t be the same. Bentley and Cyrus are comforting each other and Mommy who is so distraught. Thank you to each guest in the past that showed so much love and affection, he will be greatly missed.
