Well deserving of another outstanding South African decoration in honour of the .SANDF The people of South Africa and SADC. The highlight of his career as Joint Operations Chief and head of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) are from his beginnings in the Transkei Defence Force to the Transkei Special Forces in the 1980s. We salute him for what we learn from his characteristics and African leadership 'A fighting general' whom we also were amazed that we have never seen him wearing a South African staff officer beret admired so much by troopers as he could lead patrols as a general in full combat gear and the maroon paratrooper beret.
We believe that General Maqoma ka Ngqika (1798-1873) who fought in the 6th and 8th Xhosa frontier wars would be proud not in fighting for a specific tribe but for ultimately the prepairedness of ensuring the safety of South Africans and the responsibility of public order in the SADC region.

The unveiling of the statue of Captain Isidore Sankara afew days ago in Ouagadougou three decades after his assasination finally is part of what we also believe restores his rightful place in history we will continue to cherish the ideas and values of a leader who made such outstanding achievements in service to Burkinabé and the native African people.
