Good afternoon my Tourism family, the festive season is here and remember staff attitude toward your clients or customers is of great importance. I have shared this video courtesy of Morci studios for illustration purposes only to show how staff attitude toward customers can destroy business relationship with your clients. Other customers will be generous enough to tell you directly if things are not ok while others will silently choose to go somewhere else. Remember Tourism is More Than Just Traveling.
Good morning my Tourism family! Failing to make it this time is not the end of everything, we shall do better next time, with persistence, consistence and good planning. The mood and the preparation we had made, the zeal, the readiness in anticipation of a good thing or good outcome, should never be a one day thing but a daily way of doing things. In the hospitality industry we set the mood for our customers to feel good. That's why it is important to plan together as a team, everyone's contribution helps to make the changes that last long because the input come from everyone involved and everyone has a duty to support that which they agreed upon to work as intended. Never underestimate the power of teamwork, this applies to every sector and in life. One should never apply the kind of l know it all kind of mentality because one risks getting stuck and bound to fail. This teamwork approach works well for us in the Tourism and hospitality industry because our efforts are interdependant, no one can be everything, we share responsibilities and we engage one another to have a better out come, and that out come is what we call Good Customers Service. I have no rights to this video l shared, l have used it just for illustration of how one can get stuck if you don't consult or involve other stakeholders that are involved in whatever you are involved in. It could be at work place or indeed any activity that requires teamwork. Remember Tourism is More Than Just Traveling.
Good morning my Tourism family! I don't own any right to this video and l give credit to the originators of this video, World Peace Index (WPI), according to World Peace Index Zambia is ranked the 10th most peaceful Nation in Africa. This to me means Zambia is among the best Tourism destination of choice country because people or tourists already have it in mind that when they visit Zambia they are at peace. Let us put our house in order and take advantage of this information to market Zambia and improve our Tourism sites as well. Remember Tourism is More than Just Traveling.
Good morning my Tourism family! The Tourism day Celebrations were awesome across the country and the world over, the journey continues. The month of October is here, Happy New Month to all.
Greetings to my Tourism family, l would like to talk about the issue relating to failure to paying bills whenever one visits these Tourism facilities. When one has been offered all the services he requires such as boarding and other amenities ( food, beverages, accommodation and others), It is an offence to fail to pay. If after all the services have been offered and one feels or is short of resources to settle the bill, there is need to discuss with the Management or business owner on how one intends to pay the bill, failure to do so the hotel-keeper, Proprietor or indeed Management have the right to detain any of the customers belongings by law, except clothes on the body of the client and keep them not until the bill is paid in full. However the detention of these goods or items has a time limit thereafter the hotel-keeper, Proprietor or management can sell the items to recover the money. The selling process has a procedure, it's not that easy, one has to follow the laid down procedure which l will talk about in details later. During my working period we had a similar situation when an international company which had stayed at the hotel close to 3 years almost went without making arrangements on how to pay their bill. Being knowledgeable of this law provision we detained 5 Vehicles not until the bill was paid in full did we release the vehicles to the owners. I just thought l should share with you after witnessing some incident at one establishment within our town over the weekend where the management, Security personnel and the general staff members almost beat up a customer for failing to pay his bill.
