Introduction:
Medical waste management is a critical concern for healthcare facilities, as improper handling and disposal of medical waste can have severe environmental and public health consequences. This proposal outlines a comprehensive approach to managing medical waste, ensuring compliance with regulations, minimizing environmental impact, and promoting the overall well-being of communities.

Objectives:
The primary objectives of this proposal are as follows:
a) To establish an efficient and sustainable medical waste management system.
b) To ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations and guidelines.
c) To minimize the environmental impact associated with the disposal of medical waste.
d) To protect public health and the safety of healthcare workers, patients, and the community.
e) To promote awareness and provide training on proper medical waste management practices.

Proposed Strategies:

3.1 Segregation and Packaging:
Implement a robust waste segregation system at the source, including separate containers for different categories of medical waste (e.g., infectious, sharps, pharmaceuticals). Educate healthcare staff on proper waste segregation techniques and provide clear signage and color-coded containers to facilitate the process.

3.2 Storage and Transportation:
Establish secure storage areas with appropriate ventilation, access control, and leak-proof containers. Regularly inspect and maintain these storage areas to prevent leaks and spills. Develop protocols for safe transportation of medical waste, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and using dedicated vehicles for this purpose.

3.3 Treatment and Disposal:
Evaluate the available treatment options (e.g., incineration, autoclaving, chemical treatment) based on their effectiveness, environmental impact, and cost. Select the most appropriate treatment methods and ensure their proper functioning and maintenance. Partner with licensed and accredited waste management facilities to dispose of the treated waste safely.

"We held a very fruitful trade and investment meeting with the CDC Group led by its Chairman, Sir Graham Wrigley, accompanied by the Group’s Non-Executive Director, Dolika Banda and Chief Executive Officer, Nick O'Donohoe here in Glasgow.

CDC Group is the United Kingdom's Development Finance Institution. During our bilateral talks with its leadership, we showcased Zambia's enabling environment for trade and investment including her huge potential for economic growth centered around joint ventures.

Our core focus is to woo investment into our country which will in turn lead to unprecedented benefits for all our people. Positive projection of our country's potential remains key as we interact with several development partners here in the UK.

In whatever we do, Zambia and Zambians come first.

God bless our country." Hakainde Hichilema

ONGOING LOOTING OF PUBLIC RESOURCES IN PUBLIC COMPANIES.

The nation is inundated with information on the alleged misconduct in State Institutions under the Industrial Development Company, (IDC) umbrella and Zambia Revenue Authority,(ZRA) especially during this transition period.

A lot of criminality is going on by the perpetrators to loot public resources on a massive scale, and thereafter attempt to cover their tracks. Zambians are therefore calling on President Elect Hakainde Hichilema, whose resolve to fight corruption is a well known and unquenchable, to ensure these allegations are thoroughly investigated and appropriate prosecutions carried out in the courts of law.

We will not allow any further abuse of our country’s resources by criminal elements and cartels that are bent on stripping our assets, that are meant to be deployed to needy areas of the vulnerable of our communities.

The provisions of the Whistle Blowers Act and the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crimes Act, should inform and guide the Zero Tolerance on Corruption, and we are confident that immediately the President Elect is sworn in into office, the wheels of justice shall begin to roll.

*PF PVT SHOWS GREAT LOSS, AS SADC CALLS LUNGU FOR RESTRAINT*

By Naomi Sakala 13th August 2021

PF IT specialists and their PVT teams have projected a huge loss for the ruling party, and have advised President Edgar Lungu that the position is unassailable, this is according to State House sources.

The President was also briefed by the Director General of the Zambia Intelligence Security Services Hector Sikazwe, in the early hours of the morning, that after seeing the overwhelming response from voters who clearly rejected him, the Armed Forces will find it very difficult to cooperate with him against will of the citizens.

The PF PVT shows a huge surge for UPND President Hakainde Hichilema and that this would render electronic manipulation an impossible task.

"Hacking into an election that is too far ahead would be too glaring a feat and a red herring that would be too visible to the naked eye. The experts laid their facts before Lungu and left him to digest them", said the source.

Meanwhile the source said the OP Director General Hector Sikazwe requested for an urgent face to face meeting with the President at 02 hrs but only managed to see him at 04hrs.

"Sikazwe advised the President that he has only a few hours to maintain a full hold and authority of the Zambia Armed Forces. The DG told Lungu that as Hakainde's tally at Mulungushi International Conference Centre increases against the President's, the middle Military Commanders will begin to carefully scrutinise whatever order they receive and see whether it's on the side of the people or not".

And the same source said that SADC Heads of State have started calling on President to exercise restraint in order to keep the mood of the nation on the path to peace. They told Lungu that he should measure every word he says to ensure that security is not compromised and that peace is guaranteed.

"SADC and the Diplomatic Community are nervous about President Edgar Lungu's recent pronouncements where he threatened to arrest Hichilema after elections. They tell him these words are deeply ingrained in the opposition leader's supporters who according to the unofficial election results may well over be more than 60% percent of Zambians. Now you don't play around with such a base without endangering national peace".
