Excellent news in the new year: Zambia's first all-women anti-poaching unit is making history in wildlife protection. Breaking gender norms in conservation, these dedicated women challenge traditional roles. The initiative promotes inclusivity and gender equality, empowering women and diversifying the workforce in a typically male-dominated field. Rigorous training equips them to combat poaching effectively, ensuring the safety of Zambia's precious wildlife.

April, April.. but unfortunately not an April's fool: A friendly reminder that by now, the Zimbabwe National Parks & Wildlife Authority have increased conservation fees for the Victoria Falls National Park to US$50 per person for international residents.
The Lunar Rainbow Entry Fee will increase to now US$100.00 per person.
This will also affect already booked and confirmed tours. Unfortunately, these changes are out of our control. Rest assured that our team on the ground will ensure though that your experience will be unique and special when you visit this phenomenal natural beauty!

The numbers of new infections are decreasing, life is getting back to normal.. inclusive precautions and Covid rules and regulations. Still, travellers are hesitant to travel to South Africa... 🐧🐘🐾

Sometimes it is time for a simple THANK YOU.

Times have been difficult for so many of us. As the virus spread globally, literally every single one of us has been affected in one way or another. COVID has affected us at The Safari Source hard, like so many others in the tourism sector, in Africa, in Zimbabwe.

But today we want to look back at these last few months and appreciate the positive side. Safari operators, guides, agents but especially guests, friends and family - you all have been incredible supportive: We’ve experienced endless encouragement, uncomplicated rebooking, innovative webinars, unique solidarity and loyalty.

Every booking that has been postponed instead of cancelled, every single overnight booking we could convert for you was a major help. Whilst so many of our colleagues in the industry have lost their jobs and had to close their companies, we are still open and functional - on a very small scale, but we will stay the course. With your backup!

We are currently experiencing turbulent times. The reports of the per-cautionary arrangements around the COVID-19 virus are spreading. Travel restrictions and border closures are altering daily. There is a natural uncertainty about the upcoming measurements and their impacts on the trips.

However, we encourage travelers to rather postpone their safari plans instead of canceling them. Rest assured that the travel industry is working very closely together to find the best solutions for every individual package. Most operators are offering flexible terms to host the guests at a later stage this year, or in 2021.
