Dear colleagues,

It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of the postponement of the Zimbabwe International Women's Theatre Festival, initially scheduled for this year (2024).

Due to unforeseen circumstances that are beyond our control, we find ourselves unable to host our performers to the standard that benefits their talent and our vision for the festival.

Hope to see you in May 2025

Pangolins are scaly enigmas that fascinate people of all ages. All eight species of pangolins are threatened with extinction. But it's not too late to save them.

Along with Save Pangolins, we helped launch the Pangolin Crisis Fund to invest in the best projects to stop the poaching of pangolins, stop the trade and demand for pangolin products, and raise the profile of this little known animal. 💚

You can help by following Pangolin Crisis Fund, donating, sharing their posts, or subscribing to their newsletter at linktr.ee/pangolincrisisfund ✨

Call again? Oh we will.
It may have been the dry dusted wind, it may have been the rising up of the waves and waves of memories we have made since October 2019 and likely a combination of both, with windows drawn down and eyes swimming Buck and I drove out of Gonarezhou’s northern entrance gate. It won’t be the last time. But it is the end of this particular chapter of our lives.

Thank you to Gonarezhou Conservation Trust for giving us the opportunity. We will forever look at the world slightly differently than we did before. Thank you to the entire staff. Buck and I have learned a lot about how to approach life, what is worth waking up for and about friendship.

May there forever be these wild places for all of us to take a deep breath in and for a fleeting moment, experience the purity of the unpeopled space in the wilderness that was once a long time ago the whole.

Where next? We don’t yet know. But I do know it will be an adventure.
For now, it’s heads down for Buck and I. It’s time to get the book done.

LIVISON MARKS SMART

8 July 1956 – 2 October 2021

Today we laid to rest our friend and colleague, Livison Smart, who died on Saturday night from complications after he suffered a stroke.

We reflect on our memories of Livison, who started his career as a Malilangwe scout on 6 February 1997. Although quiet and contemplative, he had a good sense of humour. He was a dedicated man, who had a high regard for orderliness and discipline, and this made him well respected by his peers and juniors alike.

Livison was a good man, and he left our world too soon. Our condolences to his family, friends and fellow Malilangwe scouts. We will miss you Livison – rest in peace old friend.

R.I.P. 🦁😥
This is heartbreaking news 😥🦁 so sad,
Well-Known Lion Mopane Killed by Hunters in , Leaving Vulnerable Pride
Conservationists had petitioned over the last few years for Mopane to be protected from hunters.
Trophy hunting needs to be banned immediately and changed to be a criminal act!
Hwange Park, in northwestern Zimbabwe, made world headlines in mid-2015 when another of its well known lions, named by research scientists as Cecil, was lured out of the Park and killed by an American hunter.
Locals were concerned that hunters were now targeting Mopane who was apparently as big and impressive as .
Cecil the lion’s killer is back. Walter Palmer paid $80,000 to kill a rare Mongolian ram.
