(York) I have just finished another hunt in the omay with a awesome family two sons and their dad, he has traveled to Africa numerous times! But this was special as it was J’s birthday and they got to share it together as well as go out every day and look for the game we were after.
We had many a good laugh worked hard tracked and saw 23 Daggaboy’s in total in 14 days never had to look over a herd, and we took a beautiful bull!
We shot an unbelievable croc the second big croc unfortunately gave us the slip and he will be around for the next years hunts.
Our senior fellow finally got his bushbuck after all the years and trips to Africa the omay prevailed, thank you all three of you for a great family trip.
See you all in Atlanta
I am now off on a long drive to the south East of Zim for elephant buffalo and more stay tuned 👏👏👏👏

Ivory is now out and should go 60lbs will soon find out!!

These night predators are great fun to hunt lots of action this hyena was shot near the villages . He has been taking goats from the local community so my client was happy to assist.

Dalton & York have just finished the fly camp in the west of the concession, no more 2:30am wake ups, we can now hunt from the new camp and be in the hot spot within 30 minutes taking pressure off the other areas closer to main camp!

Hunting tuskless elephant is one of my favorite hunt lots of action and you get amongst large numbers of elephants. And then to top it off we shot this beautiful old hippo bull on land at 15m . Thank you to my great friend and client for coming out and supporting us

York has just come back from a awesome hunt in the Omay north, collected some beautiful trophies, sadly we lost the buffalo bull in the picture,
We hunted 12 hard days for leopard had 4 males we were working only one came back around this male was one that was wounded in 2018 and hit the baits on very random nights and times and would eat once and only eat again several days later second last night of the hunt he ate again, we sat the last night in the blind and unfortunately he never pitched up but one day he will make his mistake!!

Last minute decision to hunt a buffalo on the last day , and had a great hunt and took this great bull. Best way to finish off a great hunt

It’s been a long 8 days trying to get a leopard in Matetsi unit 1 . Having restrictions of only being able to shoot during daylight hours it’s extremely challenging. It takes a lot of patience and determination to be successful. But perseverance paid off this morning.

York and his team have been having a fantastic hunt so far, (UME camp)got a stunning buffalo bull out of a group of 6, buffalo was followed for two days in thick Jess, and eventually put down!!
Meat in and they went and found this brute of 14,4ft croc of which it took 4 days to get him out enough to get a shot !!!

MEET THE TEAM - York Mare - PH

Born in December 1988, I was raised on a farm in the South-East Lowveld of Zimbabwe, this is where I found my love for wildlife and hunting. At the age of 16, I moved to South Africa where I completed my diploma in WIldlife and Lodge Management. I moved back to Zimbabwe in 2009, where I began my apprenticeship with HHK Safaris and qualified as a Professional Hunter in 2012. I have been extremely fortunate as I have hunted in Mozambique, Cameroon and majority of the areas in Zimbabwe. Hunting to me is not a job, but rather a passion. Every safari I conduct, I maintain a strict standard of safety, integrity and ethical hunting. I am extremely proud of my team that has been hunting with me for 11 years. Zvito, my head tracker and Sunnyboy, my driver/tracker are from Dande South Zambezi Valley. They are both incredibly talented when it comes to tracking, aggressively pursuant and extremely experienced, which produces more success on every hunt.

MEET THE TEAM - Dalton Tink - PH

My name is Dalton Tink and am a partner in Dalton & York safaris. I started this career at a very young age having grown up with my father who was an avid hunter and cousins who were all just as committed. It didn’t take me long to start learning the way of the bush with so many influences. It has been a passion of mine since I was old enough to walk with my father in the hills and escalated once I could shoot and hold my own. I qualified at the young age of 21 years old as a Zimbabwean professional hunter and have never looked back, it is more of a passion to me than a job. I love the old school fair chase, following tracks of those old dugga boy warriors, getting outsmarted but never giving up until the job is done. It is extremely rewarding after putting so much time into a hunt and getting the reward after a long-fought hunt. I sum up hunting in many ways, the experience of the hunt, the comradery of both client and the ph with his team and then the social aspect of becoming friends, sharing stories around a fire and supporting each other through tough times during the hunt.
