The Southern Masked Weaver. One of natures amazing home builders. The males build these intricate homes on the end of branches, stripping back the leaves and twigs to help spot invading snakes, and even add the adorning leaf to the nest as a decorative ornament. All in the hope to attract a female to mate with. If she rejects him, he will tear the whole thing down and start again. This poor guy in Madikwe, South Africa 🇿🇦️ built and stripped 3 nests in the same week. Exhausting work.
