Nehanda Charwe Nyakasikana...a case of bones that refused to vanish, as she said it in the face of her killers. Mbuya Nehanda was hanged on the msasa tree along Josiah Tongogara in the capital in 1898 after being accused of ordering the killing of Native Commissioner for Mazoe District, Henry Hawkin Pollard during the 1896-97 uprisings popularly known as "chindunduma" . Some have argued her killing as the victimization of an innocent woman unjustly accused in male-dominated courts.
Today her statue adds to city attractions and presents a place of remembrance to the people of Zimbabwe.

The beauty of nature

A pack of wild dogs curiously inspecting a passing pangolin.
โ€”
โ€œA pangolin has a very interesting weapon it uses to protect itself against predators โ€“ its scales. When they feel threatened, this animal will roll up into a small ball.
Because the pangolinโ€™s scales are so hard, a pangolin can easily defeat its predators and leave the fight with nothing more than a few scratches on its scales.โ€œ

In order to prevent future pandemics, our message with Global Wildlife Conservation to policymakers is clear: stop the trade in wild animals. In particular, the highest risk taxa, mammals and birds.
