2. Despite their long necks, giraffes have the same number of neck vertebrae as humans, which is seven.

3. Giraffes have distinctive coat patterns that are unique to each individual, similar to human fingerprints.

4. They primarily feed on leaves from acacia trees and have long tongues (up to 21 inches) to help them reach the leaves.

5. Giraffes have a specialized cardiovascular system to pump blood up their long necks without fainting. Their hearts can weigh up to 25 pounds (11 kilograms).
