Sunday the 7th of July saw the Batoka team joining other athletes in the Econet 2019 Victoria Falls Marathon. The day started very early as runners where at the start point as early as 6am. It was a glorious event attracting 3 518runners from 43 countries. Batoka Safaris was represented in the 21km Steward Bank relay event by Matt who ran the relay alone and finished 9th in an hour and 56 minutes. Constance, Nyararai, Daphne, Rumbidzai, Michael and Robson participated in the 7km fun run. Well done Team Batoka!!

Batoka Safaris and the Rafting Guides of Victoria Falls are deeply saddened by the loss of lives and economic livelihoods of the people of Chipinge and Chimanimani which came as a result of the tropical cyclone IDAI.
We joined the rest of the nation and other stakeholders in providing relief to the affected.
Victoria Falls is blessed with Natural talent – excellent guiding skills, rescuing abilities and humanity - Ubuntu.
On 18 March 2019, Batoka Safaris mobilized a rescuing team with exceptional skills to deal with white waters. Fifteen Professional Rafting guides left their works and families and headed to Chimanimani voluntarily to rescue the victims of Cyclone Idai. The guides went with their own boats, first aid kits, raft boats and all necessary personal items to save lives.
The Batoka Safaris legend, Solomon, who is a professional guide, committed and volunteered to drive through the night to Chimanimani.
The guides arrived, camped and dugout some bodies for descent burial.
