The spokesperson for the religious ministry announced that Hajj flights for 2024 will commence on May 9 and continue until June 9. In 2023, the Saudi government restored Pakistan’s pre-pandemic Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims and eliminated the upper age limit of 65.

Approximately 81,000 pilgrims performed Hajj under the government scheme in 2023, while others opted for private tour operators.
For Hajj 2024, the Pakistani government conducted a draw in December 2023, selecting over 63,000 applicants for the pilgrimage under the government scheme.

The spokesperson emphasized the necessity of smartphones for all pilgrims, as mobile applications will be utilized during the sacred journey. Each pilgrim will receive a complimentary mobile SIM card from a Saudi company, providing 180 minutes for international calls.

The second phase of Hajj training, led by chief master trainer Ahmed Nadeem Khan, is set to commence on April 15. This phase involves 40 Hajj trainers delivering training on new initiatives and Hajj-related topics at 122 locations across Pakistan.

Furthermore, the spokesperson mentioned that the mandatory vaccination process for pilgrims will begin ten days before their scheduled Hajj flights. Additionally, pilgrims will be provided with a suitcase, hand-carry bag, shoe bag, Ihram belt, and a green scarf adorned with the Pakistani flag.
