By combining the screenings of non-commercial films with what may be viewed as unconventional music, Mahmovies!

‘Mahmovies!’ is a bi-annual film series curated by award-winning filmmaker Mahmoud Kaabour at thejamjar in Dubai, as a consequence of his living room getting too small for his film-loving friends. The series has expanded since 2008 to become a fixed staple in Dubai's cultural calendar, attracting hundreds of viewers per evening and critical acclaim for its art house offerings that are presented to

the general public in an informal atmosphere- totally free of charge. hopes to continue offering a cinematic and musical experience that is unique to the UAE and rare globally, and to bring kindred souls together into close proximity. All screenings are free of charge and will be preceded by an introduction by Mahmoud Kaabour.
