Noravank is a 13th-century Armenian monastery, located 122 km from Yerevan in a narrow gorge made by the Amaghu River, near the town of Yeghegnadzor, Armenia. The gorge is known for its tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs, directly across from the monastery. The monastery is best known for its two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) church, which grants access to the second floor by way of a narrow stone-made staircase jutting out from the face of building, one of the earliest examples of cantilever architecture.🙏

Американский журнал о путешествиях Condé Nast Traveler включил Армению в топ-20 лучших направлений в 2020 году.

Издание пишет, что Армения находится на пути к тому, чтобы стать одним из самых обсуждаемых направлений в следующем году.

Журнал называет важным то обстоятельство, что лоукостер Ryanair с 2020 года начнет летать в Армению, что делает ее «бюджетным и, к счастью, оригинальным, дополнением к вашей следующей поездке в Европу».

В статье отмечается, что озеро Севан, охватывающее 16% территории страны – «это великолепное зрелище на фоне суровых предгорий Кавказских гор, позволяющее освежиться в жаркие летние месяцы».

Авторы добавляют, что на севере страны находится Дилижанский национальный парк – густой лесной заповедник, где обитают рыси, медведи и волки.

«За пределами столицы большая часть туризма в Армении вращается вокруг церквей. Хор Вирап, Нораванк, Гегард и Гарни настолько насыщены историей и живописны, что заставят даже самого стойкого неверующего затаить дыхание», — пишет журнал.

Но главная архитектурная жемчужина Армении — Эчмиадзин, самый старый собор в мире, освященный в 303 году н.э. и армянский эквивалент Ватикана, отмечает издание.
