After more than a year the Celebrity Millennium in the port of Curacao. Received by our local girls in historical costumes. Dancing for the passengers. Also it is the first call for the Millennium at the port of Curacao. This means double joy. We participated in the first tour to the liquour Factory and the Mambo beach. A huge succes! Next june 21, 2021. If you are on the ship don't forget to make your reservation on time! See you than.

This is "Kalbas di Hofi". The biggest of all Calabash. With this one we make lampshades when they are bigger. Did you know that when they are bigger they will be resting in a hamock for not to break the tree?
And of course you knew already that with the small round ones they make the "maracas". Singing: La cucaracha, la cucaracha............😁

Today for the first time in many months 0 cases of Covid 19 on the Island. Air Canada almost there and Avianca already bringing in guests. So slowly we are going back on track. Right now in our harbour, The Saint Anne bay you can find two peculiar boats. The big one is a luxurious sailboat. The small one is a custome made boat for a private person awaiting the new owner to come and pick it up. It is called the "Santa Maria" and is a replica of the real wooden one Christoffer Columbus had back then around 1499 when he discovered the Americas. Do you remember the name of the 2 other boats he had?

For some people this might be a strange side. Water behind our old "Sint Elisabeth" hospital. They only know the street behing it. But before a new street there was always something else. And in this case the sea water came in from where now is Riffort. Imagine that!

The famous floating market is back! It doesn't float, because the boats are not there anymore. But the enthousiastic merchands are there to sell souvenirs, fruit and vegetable and sweet goodies. Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) all cruiseships and almost all airplaine connection to our beautiful Island Curaçao has been stopped. We have also a lockdown. One of the things we can do, besides keeping the social distance and washing our hands, is walking in the nature. For over 300 years this Island has salt pans. During the slavery time we used to be the biggest export Island for this white gold. In 1963 the SHELL oil company tried to revive the flats but didn't succeed. Now we can walk on these saltflats as a mean of relaxation in the nature. We did so at the salt flats in Jan Thiel. After the lockdown reconnect with us to see all the beauty Curaçao has to offer you. We will be waiting for you!

The "Party" bus is ready! As from now you can rent the bus or take a tour with us on the fully renovated "Party" bus. It is all wood, colorful lights and music. Today Curaçao celebrated their 50th Carnival! We know exactly how to celebrate/party on the Island. Because we celebrate and enjoy Carnival for 2 weeks. It al started last sunday with the Children parade, we had the Teener parade, the West side parade and today the Adult parade. If you think this was all? Nooooo we have 2 more days to go. Tomorrow the farewell Children and Tuesday the farewell Adult light parade in the evening with the big bang at 00.00 hours. FIREWORKS!

We are very known on the Island with the Sephardic Jewish Community. We have the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. Big yellow buiding with a breathtaking interior. But did you know we also have an Ashkenazi Shul? Glass roof where you can admire the sky. And a very young Rabbi Silver leading it.

As we are reaching the end of the year 2019, also we think back on a beautiful year. The one place you visit on almost every tour on the Island is the Chobolobo Liquour Factory.
