CREME RECOMMENDS : One of our longstanding favourite Argentine jewellery designers Sibilia is more well known and sought after outside her homeland, selling her original pieces successfully abroad for years.

We love these test pieces with primal colours, on trend and on point for 2017, and we're looking to see how these pieces develop and end up for sale. We take people on our made to measure Buenos Aires shopping tours to visit her workshop here in the city, to meet the designer herself, to witness the creative process unfurl and get a glimpse behind the scenes.

CREME TOURS : It feels rewarding when we get to show Buenos Aires' hidden facets and secret spots to someone who is really going to spread the word about their travels and experiences in the city. Vanessa had the privilege of showing Jessica Walsh (NY illustrious art director and one half of creative agency Sagmeister & Walsh) around the city on yesterday's made to measure fashion and vintage tour. Here is her look before stepping out to dinner at a chic eatery on Vanessa's recommendation, on her last night in Buenos Aires with her husband. We love what we do!

We're totally feeling the beautiful debut line from Quadra Muebles, a brand new Buenos Aires design studio of small editions of pieces for the home, with a monochrome and tiled theme running throughout. Set up by architect architect Julia D'Alotto and associate Laura Espósito. We're excited to visit their beautiful showroom and see how this project unfurls in the coming months. Watch this space!

CREME TREND HUNTING : Julián Cúneo's innovative bag design

We're bowled over by the creative endeavours of Julián Cúneo who is a multi-disciplinary artist, and frequently works with a technique using dyed cotton cord machine sewn which he has applied for the production of this bag, his first prototype and an exciting contemporary take on Argentine artisan craftsmanship.

CREME TOURS : We were so happy to show a busy Law Professor around Buenos Aires last week who was over from Chicago for a precious few days for an international conference held in the city. Even more delighted that she picked up some gorgeous kids clothes from Greens Shop and that she was kind enough to send over some photos of her gorgeous 2 year old daughter modelling the fluffy coat in question. We adore getting this kind of feedback and makes us love what we do even more!

CREME SHOPPING TOURS : We're having a particularly busy August with more tour requests than usual for this time of the year thanks to the Olympics in Rio seeing an increase of visitors to Buenos Aires.

This month is all about New Yorkers, and we've had the pleasure of curating personalised itineraries for a chic interpreter based in Geneva, a six foot beauty from Harlem who hired Vanessa to plan her day for the 8 precious hours of her stopover in the city, and a foodie living in the heart of Manhattan. We love what we do!

We're eagerly awaiting, our mouths watering, for the next event from this cottage industry enterprise, run by the talented Hannah Naif. We're delighted to hear that one of Buenos Aires' hottest florists has taken up residency within the sumptuous grounds of one of our favourite BA hangouts. Casa Cavia offers great food, cocktails, literary workshops, a curated bookshop, afternoon tea and dreamy pastries and cakes as well as a wonderful outside cocktail bar and al fresco dining area and now there's yet another excuse to visit. As well as picking up your Fueguia 1833 Laboratorio de perfumes in-house you can also come away with a wonderful arrangement lovingly created by Camila, Blumm's founder. We can't wait to stop by and pick up our own personalised bunch!

CREME DIARY : This Sunday is the closing date of a small scale production of Argentine play Melincué by Ariadna Asturzzi - the perfect opportunity to experience some great quality independent Porteño theatre with the participation of the talented Miel Bargman.

The play centres on Valeria who's having a meltdown in her 30s and decides to go on her first ever camping trip dragging her teenage friend Agostina along for the ride. Over the course of a night, while they put off assembling the tent, and over copious amounts of whisky, between missed calls and eating cheap ham sandwiches, they open up to each other about their greatest failures and dissapointments.

CREME TRENDHUNTING : High fashion vs Argentine tradition.

There's been a general trend with local designers who have begun to draw more on local and traditional influences for their designs. Argentina has long been famous for being an incredibly fertile country and its reputation for producing exceptional beef and other raw materials, political and economic crises aside, remains intact.

It's refreshing to see a renewed pride in an autoctonous identity, with more and more designers looking local for inspiration rather than to European influences, as well as preparing to invest to create products made with excellent materials, using vegetable dyes and natural methods instead of chemicals to tan leather, cowhair for handbags, and working with cooperatives in the north of the country using traditional artisan hand looming techniques to produce high fashion wool, cotton and cashmere knitted pieces.

We've just discovered Romero Lagache and we're head over heels in love, with a proudly 'Made in Argentina' ethos and and stripped down, timeless approach to their designs. From sublimely simple yet statement cufflinks, to 100% cotton crisp cut shirts and chic leather handbags in on point tote and bucket bag styles.

Argentine fashion feels like it's living a renaissance moment and we couldn't be happier, and we're excited to see what the second half of 2016 will bring!

CREME ART : Argentine artist and photographer Lobo Velar has embarked on a new photographic series documenting his daughter in relation to his current works as he produces them, as a reaction to a recent amalgamation of his studio and living space where everything happens under one roof. In the images Elena's coy poses are juxtaposed with his works, her figure a complimentary counterpart to his brush strokes, which create a subliminal dialogue in each between the artist's 'creations'.

CREME TRENDHUNTING : Santiñaque Photography and artist Zoe Trilnick Farji have teamed up with Buenos Aires designer Juan Hernandez Daels for this experimental editorial. With a mix of some of his couture one off pieces and a selection from his current collection all given a creative twist by Zoe's styling and collaging of Nicolás Santiñaque's beautiful photos giving the whole thing a surreal edge.

CREME DIARY : Yesterday Colleen and Lu, two lovely members of the Creme team went along to check out the inauguration of the brand new and chic showroom space of one of our favourite Buenos Aires designers. Blue Sheep by Cata Chavanne has been slowly building a loyal following for beautifully finished perennial and stylish basics, from oversized cowl neck jumpers made from Argentina angora and wool to beautiful cotton shirts and Uruguayan blanket coats which we recommend as an indispensable piece of any BA winter wardrobe.

We love it when it comes to researching the emerging talent on the BA fashion scene as we're always inspired and pleasantly surprised by the constant stream of new and exciting proposals. We're currently crushing hard on the leather offerings from accessory label CRUDAH whose beautiful totes and subtle and understated handbags and clutches are on point both with their choice of colour palette and styles. We're excited to hear that they'll be opening a showroom imminently and can't wait to test drive these beauties for ourselves!

CREME UPDATE : WE'RE BACK!

We've been a bit quiet on FB of late, with Vanessa travelling around the province covering features for international publications as her portfolio of writing and work as a local tastemaker broadens and diversifies. Creme has also been receiving generous international coverage, with our menswear shopping tours and recommendations endorsed by GQ Australia and Urbis Magazine interviewing Vanessa for their huge special on Buenos Aires as a local expert and trend hunter.

With a new team and exciting projects and developments in the pipeline for the second half of 2016, and the blog and improvements to the website going live in July/August, we couldn't be more excited! We'll be back to our regular FB posts and updates so stay tuned.
