“La historia que he vivido”, Carlos Ibarguren (1877-1956) las comienza narrando un viaje de niño desde Salta hasta Buenos Aires, en 1882. Fue ”largo y cansador”, recordaba. “En diligencia de Salta a Tucumán -seis penosos días-; en ferrocarril de Tucumán a Córdoba, y de allí a Rosario; en v***r de Rosario a Campana, y otra vez en tren desde ese punto a Buenos Aires. Entre el recorrido y las estadas intermedias en espera de las combinaciones ferroviarias y fluviales, el viaje duró alrededor de quince días”, evocaba Ibarguren.
