Congratulations Peter! Well deserved!
If you'd like to check out the Clipper Ship City of Adelaide it's open 10 am to 3 pm daily.

We are thrilled that our Peter has been recognised in today’s Australia Day Honours.

Congratulations to Clipper Ship City of Adelaide Director Peter Christopher OAM, on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his services to Maritime History.

Peter convened the first meeting of Adelaide volunteers to save the City of Adelaide in July 2000 and has worked tirelessly since in the preservation and restoration of this important piece of maritime history. His vision and dedication continue to be a driving force in the planned Seaport Village project at Dock 2, Port Adelaide.

Peter also has a broader maritime interest as the author of 7 books on shipwrecks and riverboats, and co-author of another 2.

Unfortunately, due to the bad weather forecast for the weekend, we have had to cancel the Port Adelaide Handmade Market scheduled for Saturday. While it looked like the rain might hold off for us, high winds are now predicted which poses a significant danger with the laneway precinct forming a wind tunnel.

Don't worry though, we will be holding another one soon so keep your eyes open for that. It just means you'll have to wait a bit longer to get your hands on some handcrafted goodies!

We have contacted all stallholders to let them know. If you have any questions please give us a call during office hours on 8405 6600 and have a chat with our Placemaking Team.
